An oak-framed garage adds curb appeal to your entire property. Your new oak-framed garage will have a timeless air and they’re also extremely durable. Estate agents will tell you that curb appeal can affect the value of your property by as much as 10% and an oak-framed garage could add even more.
If you choose a bespoke garage you can add specific functionality that an off-the-shelf kit may not have – though even off-the-shelf kits allow you to finish your garage in any way you choose. For example, you might choose one of our 3-bay oak garage kits and finish one bay for your car, another for a home gym and still another as a home office.
It’s great when your kids have a space that they can ‘own’ – especially if it’s not in the house! Many people create spaces within their bespoke garage to give their children a space to play, from gyms and game rooms to music and art studios.
Synthetic materials can be cheap and versatile, but materials such as plastic lack the aesthetic and soul of natural materials such as wood and stone. Wood is also sustainable.
It is not rare for people to leave internal wood exposed and treat – not paint – external wood so that its natural beauty is on show.
Garages made from concrete, brick, cinder block and other materials can promote condensation. Since moisture is one of the primary enemies of the long-term storage of just about anything – including cars – it’s better to build a garage from genuine green oak which helps reduce moisture and maintain a dry, stable environment within the garage. This dry environment will also benefit other things you may store in the garage including expensive rugs, artwork and wooden furniture.
Whether you choose to customise one of our existing oak frame garage kits or you opt for framing designed specifically for you from the ground up you’ll be supporting the environment because timber has the lowest carbon footprint of any building material.
A new garage involves a number of stages, from design and materials sourcing to fashioning materials and construction. Choosing an oak garage kit from Trade Oak means you bypass much of that expense. Not only that, but you also ensure a higher quality outcome.
This is because the design of our oak-framed garage kits has already been done. In addition, we purchase the oak timber used in your garage in bulk, which enables us to keep material acquisition costs down. And because the individual components are crafted using our state-of-the-art CNC machine, each of our framed garage kits fits together with stunning precision.
How can an oak-framed garage kit result in a bespoke garage? Our kits provide the basis for your garage, how you finish them is entirely up to you, from cladding and roofing materials to windows and doors. And of course, you will tailor your interior to your taste and requirements. Two customers who each purchase a 2-bay oak framed garage kit will end up with completely different garages.
However, you may require a garage with more unique features – from upstairs rooms to many bays. We can work with you to design and build any oak-frame building, so if you don’t see what you need here, get in touch. We’d love to discuss your project with you.
Each and every component of our oak framed garage kits is meticulously engineered from QP-1 European Green Oak; the same type of wood being used in the restoration of Notre Dame. All cuts are made using our state-of-the-art CNC milling machine which is capable of creating joints that are accurate to within millimetres.
This type of accuracy ensures that your oak framed garage will stand up to whatever mother nature can throw at it and has the potential to still be standing in 200 years or more.
